On 8th and 9th of May, I’ll be attending for the first time the web conference NEXT BERLIN, taking place in a charming location: an old train station! I’m very excited to be invited as an official blogger and have a chance to be guided in the now famous Berlin startup scene (during this week, it will be the Berlin Web Week and I’ll also attend the BERLinsight on Monday evening). I’ve been in Berlin 2 years ago to act as a mentor at Seedcamp and I’m eager to see how fast things have been moving forward since then.
But let’s come back to the conference: NEXT was started 6 years ago for the 10th anniversary of the company SinnerSchrader (a digital agency) and has been transformed in a regular event “by accident”: so many participants would have participated but there’s wasn’t enough capacity! So kind of a typical startup success story for an event!
The conference is articulated around 3 major themes: consumer–technology–marketing. Uniqueness of the event is (to really try) to mix marketing decision-makers and business developers with technical experts and creative minds, to discuss the key challenges of the coming next 12 months.
Speaker sessions will satisfy various needs from the participants: technology, creative oriented, mobile, fashion and also some workshops, etc. Speakers from Google, The Next Web, TechCrunch, Wooga, etc. will be presenting and giving us some insights.
NEXT Berlin also selected promising entrepreneurs and creative people to let you elect them as the “NEXT 100” (but the vote is over).
Lastly and as every good startup conference, NEXT will host a startup competition on Tuesday evening, on which I’ve already planned a blog post for you!
I’m still working on who I’d like to interview personally (so many interesting people, difficult choice). So if you see some speakers you’d like to ask them something specific, let me know and I’ll do my best to interview them and share with you the result here on Startupolic!
I’m glad and amazed to be invited as an “Official Blogger” of NEXT Berlin, just a few months and a 20-something blog posts after launching Startupolic. I’m also excited to feel the pulse of one of the most advanced startup hot spot in Europa!
Oh, I’ve almost forgotten… if you’d like to attend the conference, here’s a discount code (20% off the ticket price – enter it in the promotion code field): discount20_bloggerfriend.
